Much to my dismay...

...today when I started up Portal 2, the menu seemed perfectly normal, just like on what happened for me in Left 4 Dead. But, when attempting to play the game, my face pulled a "D:". Most or all of the textures and shading were broken, EXACTLY like what happened for me in Left 4 Dead. So, in order to keep up with games that were made past 2007, I will try to scrounge together enough pennies to get a better computer. I doubt it'll happen soon, however.

  1. What you need is just a new video card. I had that issue with Dragon Age before I got my new PC. Bought a sub $100 card and it doubled my gaming power as well as allowed me to play modern games.

Post your specs and I'll help you out.

  2. My brother already found me an $80 graphics card, but my computer itself is so old (Dell Dimension 4600) he said it wouldn't be worth it, putting a brand new graphics card into such a thing.

  3. Okay, I know Jared will hate me for this, but I just want to say this kind of stuff is why I prefer consoles. I don't have to worry about system requirements or turning the graphics down so it won't lag and crap like that. Plus I prefer sitting on a couch with a controller in my hand playing the game on my TV over sitting at a desk with my face right at the screen. I really hope Jared doesn't see this comment... he already doesn't seem to like me much.

  4. Meh, PC games offer better control of movement and aim. I'm pretty damn awesome at HL2 on the PC, I played it on the XBOX at my friend's place once, sucked so horribly at it it wasn't even funny.

  5. That's because your used to PC controls. I'm not very good at PC, but I'm quite good with a controller, and once again, I will say that at least to me, nothing beats sitting on a couch, grabbing a controller, and relaxing. What I'm saying is really neither is better, it's just what you prefer. I find the mouse and key board to be quite clunky, especially for Portal, especially when it comes to flinging, which is why I only play it on PC for mods.

Anyway, just please understand that I'm not saying your stupid or anything for liking PC for gaming, I'm stating why I don't.
